Austin, TX —

Cypress Real Estate Advisors (CREA) today announced a partnership with Work & Mother Services, LLC (Work & Mother) – a network of fully equipped lactation facilities, called “Work & Mother Suites”, to establish a facility at the company’s Eastlake at Tillery office project, currently under construction at 3212 East Cesar Chavez Street in East Austin.

The new Work & Mother facility at Eastlake at Tillery will be its first Austin location, providing a unique new amenity to the campus that makes it easy for employers to support working mothers. Along with the suites, Work & Mother provides hospital-grade equipment, an app for reserving rooms, and educational resources to support working parents. In addition, the facility will help Eastlake at Tillery tenants address Section 7 of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Requirements for Nursing Mothers, which requires certain employers to provide a place, other than a bathroom, for employees to pump breast milk during the workday.

We are thrilled to be coming to Austin. Providing a dedicated, safe, and sanitary place to pump  has never been more important, especially now with COVID-19. CREA and AQUILA have been amazing to work with, and we are grateful for partners who truly understand the needs of today’s workforce,” said Abbey Donnell, Founder and CEO of Work & Mother.

Work & Mother is working with Victor Young, principal for CREA, to build out the new location, which will have two private rooms, hospital-grade equipment and additional support resources. Many of the rooms will have workstations that, with hands-free pumping, allow women to continue working while they pump.

“Work & Mother is the most innovative office amenity concept I have ever encountered. I hope that including it in our project creates a flexible and inclusive work experience for our tenants.  I’m blown away by Abbey’s approach and look forward to seeing her vision realized,” said Young.

AQUILA Commercial’s Ben Tolson, Bethany Perez and Seth Stuart are leasing the project. A working mother of three, Perez knows first-hand the issues new mothers experience when returning to the office.

“Transitioning back to the workplace after having a baby comes with added emotions and stress. If there is not a convenient place to pump, many moms have a hard time fitting it in during the work day. When CREA engaged Work & Mother, I couldn’t be more pleased that they are making this a priority at Eastlake at Tillery. Having this added amenity in the project makes the transition back to the workplace smoother and provides working moms with an elevated experience that I haven’t seen before in the Austin market.” says Perez.

Eastlake at Tillery is a 172,000-sf office development currently under construction. The office campus will feature two, three-story buildings served by an adjacent parking structure. The project will be ready for tenant improvement in December 2020.

The Work & Mother platform is one of three major initiatives that create what CREA refers to as The Eastlake Experience. Eastlake at Tillery will offer employers and employees an office experience unlike any other, enabling employees to feel confident and productive in their return to the office. Work & Mother will not only help new mothers feel welcome and stay productive in the office, it will also allow the employers to recruit and retain top talent. The building’s clean standard initiative ensures that employees have a safe and healthy workplace, complete with touchless access and bathroom fixtures, state-of-the-art air filtration, ample outdoor space and more. Finally, through the integration of Arc for LEED, tenants will know they’re contributing to tomorrow through the building’s green initiatives.
